- Did you go through the procedure to set up the Dial-Up Networking. In
- Control Panel | Network | do you see one of the entries as "Dial-Up
- Adaptor"

- If you have done that also check that other programs that use the modem (ie
- FAX) are not running. Type the Ctrl-Alt-Del keys to get the task menu up
- and see what programs are running.
